Introduction to photography
Exercise 2b ( shutter speed ) , Exercise 2c1 , 2c2 ( ISO )
Lecture : Before class began ,we had a online quiz about that ISO effects exposure , the quality of image ( the noise and the grains ) and also the shutter speed , during it , I finally understood that what is about the ISO and the shutter speed on the camera . After that , Mr.Vinod divided us into a group for discussion and also allowed us to go out from the class for taking some pictures that can prove that ISO effects exposure .
Instruction for exercise 2b ( shutter speed ) :
1) Keep the fan speed at 1 and capture images using shutter settings from 1/1000th of a second till 1’ of a second.
2) Repeat this exercise after changing the fan speed from 1 to 2 and the from 2 to 3 and so on.
3) All pictures must be black and white.
4) Upload the screen shot of the document only and not the individual pictures.
Instruction for exercise 2c1, 2c2 ( ISO ) :
1) ISO (in-class) Exercise Instruction
2) Upon reading, viewing and discussing the material on ISO, we have come to agree that ISO effects exposure (Exercise 2c.1) and effects the quality of an image (Exercise 2c.2).
3) Your task today, requires you to prove that:
- 2c.1) ISO effects exposure
- 2c.2) ISO effects the quality of an image by increasing the noise and grain of a picture.
Exercise 2b - Shutter Speed

ISO 1600 f/4 S 1/60
ISO 3200 f/4 S 1/60

Exercise 2c2 - ISO ( quality of image) (correction after feedback)

Feedback : Mr .Vinod said : Holly, the exercise 2b, your exposure became lighter as you reduced your shutter speed, which means you did not maintain the correct exposure according to the camera light meter. Also I think the lighting condition in the room was not conducive for the exercise. In my explanation I said you must have good light coming into the room... So if you do the exercise at night it would not be conducive. In exercise 2c.2 (quality of image) you must maintain the exposure throughout by adjusting the aperture and shutter to get so that the exposure is correct according to the light meter of the camera.

The feedback for exercise 2a must be posted in week 3 Holly, not week 4, for week 4, you put this feedback that I am giving you right now.
Reflection :
Experience - I don't understand what is about the ISO , Aperture and also shutter speed on the camera before . But Mr.Vinod keep explaining to us and demonstrating the progress with us , I think I have already improved my general knowledge on the camera
Observations - I have noticed that the quiz we did in the class was so fun . Mr Vinod always talking about the other great photographers' experience and showing to us some of their works or pictures , I think that it is so informative to have extra information in designers' future .
Findings - I found out that the ISO effects exposure and I can get aware of my surroundings that I can capture from . It also can improves my general knowledge on camera .
